Yesterday, the business talk of the Dortmund Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK) took place at Paul Vahle GmbH & Co. KG in Kamen. The central topic of the event was sustainable business in view of the current energy crisis. In addition, there were insights into the current economic situation of the city of Kamen as well as an outlook on the expected future development. More than 50 guests from politics and business came to the premises of the Kamen-based system provider for mobile industrial applications, including Kamen's mayor Elke Kappen, the managing director of the Dortmund Chamber of Industry and Commerce Stefan Schreiber and IHK regional advisor Simone Bergmann.
"We are very pleased that we were able to host this year's IHK business talk. Not least because it could take place again this year in presence. And once again it has been shown that the event setting is optimal for exchanging ideas with representatives of the local economy about common interests as well as about Kamen as a business location," says Achim Dries, Managing Director of Paul Vahle GmbH & Co. KG and IHK plenary assembly member. Disrupted supply chains and the energy crisis have recently placed a heavy burden on both small and large companies. The main topic of the IHK business meeting was sustainable management - not only with regard to one's own resource-saving actions, but also in terms of dealing with customers, suppliers and employees.
At 4 p.m., Achim Dries opened the event with a guided tour of the VAHLE premises, during which the participants were able to gain a deep insight into the production of the specialist for mobile power transmission and data communication solutions. The program continued with interesting presentations. Elke Kappen, the mayor of Kamen, spoke about how the municipality deals with the topic of sustainability. Afterwards, IHK managing director Stefan Schreiber informed about current topics from the IHK. Stefan Peltzer, head of the mobility, energy and sustainable management department at the Dortmund Chamber of Industry and Commerce, also presented practical tips on how companies can operate sustainably without losing sight of their own goals. The informal exchange over a shared snack again formed the conclusion of the traditional event.
