From A for start to Z for certificate
During our welcome and entry days, you will receive a lot of information about the process and organization of your training. These days serve to help you arrive in working life, to familiarize you with your fellow trainees and contacts, and to get to know VAHLE itself.
From the beginning of your training, you will have a strong team at your side. Your trainer is your first point of contact for individual support and the structure of your training. In addition, a training officer will support you in the respective departments. In order to make your start at VAHLE easier, a trainee mentor from the second year of training is available to help you find your way around VAHLE as you settle in.
The goal of every apprenticeship is to teach defined skills and knowledge by the end of the apprenticeship. We accompany you individually on your way. At the end of your training, you will be intensively prepared for your examination.
Our team spirit
It is important to us that our trainees see themselves as one team. We promote camaraderie with team-building events during training and project work, including trainee excursions, Christmas parties and the opportunity to take part in all other events offered by VAHLE, such as company parties and company sports. You become part of the VAHLE family.
It is important to us that our trainees not only understand their own craft. You will also get to know the interrelationships and interfaces between the specialist departments and can also look over the shoulders of colleagues from other departments.

After the start of the selection process for each training occupation, your application will be reviewed. If it meets our expectations, you may be invited to a recruitment test and, if you do well, to an interview.
If we offer you a training position after this interview, you've made it!
FAQ
Good training also requires good partners in the school part of the training. We currently cooperate with the following vocational schools:
- Hansa Berufskolleg, Unna Hellweg Berufskolleg, Unna
- Eduard-Spranger Vocational College, Hamm
- Witten Vocational College, Witten
- Fritz-Henßler Vocational College, Dortmund
The vocational school varies depending on the training occupation and will be determined by us for you. Please refer to the overview under the respective training occupation.
We register you at the right vocational school and make sure that our trainees in the same occupation attend the same school class if possible.
We provide well-equipped workplaces for you. Depending on your apprenticeship, you can use our specially equipped training center or, especially in the commercial and IT professions, even work in mobile work. Otherwise, of course, every workstation is adapted to ergonomic requirements.
During your apprenticeship, you will benefit from a top apprentice salary in accordance with the collective agreement of the metal and electrical industry in North Rhine-Westphalia plus a voluntary bonus. In addition, we will pay the monthly costs for your apprentice ticket, so that you are flexible and mobile and can also travel to vocational school without worrying about wind and weather. Of course, you can also use the ticket for your free time!
Our vacation entitlement is based on the regulations of the collective agreement for the metal and electrical industry in North Rhine-Westphalia. It currently amounts to 30 vacation days per calendar year. The entitlement is calculated pro rata for the months that you are employed by us in a calendar year.
Your training with us generally begins on August 1. Due to school vacations, it is possible that the vocational school will not start until a later date. You will be informed directly by the school.

An ideal time for your application for the following year at VAHLE is from the summer vacations until around the middle/end of October. It is of course still possible to apply after this time, but then it is not certain that we will be able to consider your application.
Once you have uploaded your application, you will receive a confirmation of receipt via emai. After the selection process has started, your application will be reviewed. If it meets our expectations, you will be invited to a recruitment test. If the result is good, we would like to get to know you better in an interview. If we offer you a training position after this interview, you've made it!
